About the Author

Cheka Mendis is an occasional poet, a longtime competitive debater, and enthusiast in all things science. He has been writing since he was nine years old, publishing his first novel featuring Ryan Neville, Smoke and Mirrors, in 2019. The teenage detective’s adventures continued in 2024 with Cheka released the book’s sequel Fire through Glass. Both books won the State Literary Award for Youth Literature in 2021 and 2025 respectively. He’s currently working on the manuscript for book three in the trilogy while working on his studies. He currently lives in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
